Our Optometrists

Our Optometrists

One of the first medical professionals you meet at I Love LASIK will be one of our optometrists.

An optometrist is a Doctor of Optometry (OD) who has been trained to treat and manage eye diseases, prescribe glasses and contact lenses and remove foreign bodies from the eye. An optometrist has completed four years of undergraduate education and another four years of education from a college of optometry.
The optometrist – or OD – can check your prescription and eye health before your procedure to help provide the best possible outcome. Visits with your optometrist or ophthalmologist might last for up to a year after your procedure to ensure your eyes reach their peak vision. We also recommend an annual eye exam thereafter to ensure overall eye health.

Ophthalmologists differ from optometrists and opticians in their levels of training and in what they can diagnose and treat.

Our Service Team

Our Service Team

Our service team includes receptionists, ophthalmic technicians, and refractive surgery coordinators.

Receptionists will greet you at the clinic and ensure your stay with us is informed and organized the whole time. They will also handle routine payments and schedule your next appointments.

Ophthalmic technicians carry out tests and scans using specialized diagnostic equipment that informs both the optometrist and ophthalmologist about your candidacy for laser eye surgery. Our technicians also assist in surgery and counsel our patients on the correct aftercare regimens.

Refractive surgery coordinators see you at your first appointment and assess your motivations for having laser eye surgery. They ensure that your expectations are realistic and manage your first visit.

We expect and encourage every team member to be a member of the American Society of Ophthalmic Administrators and to maintain their certifications at the COE (Certified Ophthalmic Executive) and CPPS (Certified Patient Service Specialist) levels.
