Not a LASIK candidate?

Not a LASIK candidate?

How to become free from glasses and contact lenses when you’re not a LASIK candidate

Not suitable for LASIK? Don’t worry. We have plenty of amazing alternatives that achieve equally life-changing results.

ICL’s – a safe and effective option for high prescriptions

ICL’s (Implantable Collamer Lenses) are a safe and effective treatment to restore natural eyesight so that you no longer need contacts and glasses.

Aimed specifically towards treating severe nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism, ICL’s:

  • Won’t cause or exacerbate dry eye
  • Are safer for those with thin corneas
  • Are reversible
  • Offer a fast recovery
  • Offer UV protection
  • Provide excellent night vision outcomes
  • Can treat severe prescriptions

Lens replacement – ideal for those with reading vision problems

Lens replacement (or RLE) is a technique aimed at permanently correcting vision for patients who are frustrated with deteriorating vision. The lens replacement surgery involves removing the natural lens in your eye and replacing it with an implantable contact lens.

The lens replacement treatment is one of the most versatile eye surgeries available. It can safely and effectively treat:

  • Nearsightedness
  • Farsightedness
  • Astigmatism
  • Presbyopia (the need for reading glasses)
  • Cataract
  • Dependence on bifocal, varifocal or multifocal contact lenses or glasses

Not suitable for LASIK? Don’t worry. We have plenty of amazing alternatives that achieve equally life-changing results.

Cross-linking & INTACS® – the mainstay treatment for keratoconus

Having keratoconus will disqualify you from laser eye surgery, but that doesn’t mean we can’t stabilise your keratoconus with cross-linking.

Cross-linking is a non-invasive, one-time procedure where we apply special eye drops to the front of your eye. We then activate the drops with ultraviolet light encouraging bonding between the adjacent strands of collagen in the cornea. These collagen strands are the anchors that strengthen your cornea and maintain your cornea’s standard shape.

We can also combine cross-linking treatment with clear corneal inserts called INTACs®. We surgically insert INTACs into the cornea to help reshape it.

When we combine these two treatments, we can help flatten your cornea further than we could have achieved with either alone.

ReLEx SMILE – a less-invasive laser eye surgery for those with thinner corneas

ReLEx ® SMILE stands for Small Incision Lenticule Extraction and is a minimally invasive treatment for nearsightedness (myopia) and astigmatism. It is the latest advancement in laser vision correction technology with a 10-year track record of success.

ReLEx SMILE is:

  • Quick and minimally invasive
  • It doesn’t require a flap
  • Suitable for those with dry eye or contact lens intolerance

Which eye procedure are you eligible for?

If you want to know if you are eligible for any of the procedures mentioned above, please call us or book a free appointment. We will be able to give you specific guidance about your expected vision after treatment and answer any questions you have.
