Dr. Samer Khosrof is a highly skilled ophthalmologist in New York City with over 25 years of experience treating a full spectrum of eye conditions—from complex retinal disorders to elective vision correction. Double-trained in vitreoretinal surgery, Dr. Khosrof brings rare depth to his practice, performing everything from LASIK, SMILE LASIK and EVO ICL™ to blepharoplasty, keratoconus treatment and advanced cataract procedures. He is known for providing comprehensive, personalized care at every stage, seeing patients through consultation, surgery, and post-operative recovery himself.

At I Love LASIK, located in Manhattan’s Columbus Circle, Dr. Khosrof performs thousands of refractive procedures using the latest technologies. He also leads a full-scope ophthalmology practice, New York Eye & Retina Specialist, in Brooklyn. One of only a few physicians to offer office-based surgery for select lens and refractive procedures, he emphasizes patient comfort, precision, and outcomes.

Education, Special Interests, and Research Activities

Dr. Khosrof completed his medical training at the University of Aleppo Faculty of Medicine. He went on to complete a residency in ophthalmology at SUNY Downstate University, where he began building a strong foundation in medical and surgical eye care. He then pursued advanced fellowship training in vitreoretinal surgery at Tulane University Medical Center, followed by a second fellowship in retina at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary through Harvard Medical School. His broad expertise spans cornea, cataract, refractive, glaucoma, oculoplastic, and retinal surgery.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Khosrof has authored numerous articles for peer-reviewed journals. His research on anti-angiogenic therapies has contributed to the development of modern treatments for conditions like diabetic retinopathy and age-related macular degeneration. He currently serves as an attending surgeon at several leading institutions, including SUNY Downstate Medical Center, NYU Medical Center, Methodist Hospital, and Lutheran Medical Center. Dr. Khosrof is also dedicated to global health, donating his time and skills through humanitarian work with Physicians Without Borders.
