ReLEx SMILE is painless thanks to the use of numbing drops.
The eye is also more comfortable post-operatively than other laser eye surgery techniques because only a tiny incision is made which heals faster.
ReLEx SMILE is the latest advancement in laser vision correction technology

- 98% of patients achieve their desired vision after ReLEX SMILE treatment
ReLEx ® SMILE stands for Small Incision Lenticule Extraction and is a minimally invasive treatment for nearsightedness (myopia) and astigmatism. It is the latest advancement in laser vision correction technology with a 10-year track record of success.
It’s minimally invasive: This means it’s pain-free and recovery is super quick, so you can get back to work, driving and all your usual activities within a few days.
It doesn’t require ‘a flap’: Traditional surgery for nearsightedness involves the use of a blade to create a flap in the cornea before a laser is used to correct the vision. This no flap method means no flap-related complications or side effects such as infection or dry eye.
Full visual recovery: You will typically experience full visual recovery in just a few days.
Greater eligibility: If you have a contact lens intolerance or dry eye, you are a perfect candidate for SMILE.
It’s quick: The surgeon performs the entire procedure on a single laser, which means it takes just a few minutes to complete.
If you have a higher degree of nearsightedness (myopia -0.5 to -10D) with or without astigmatism (0 to +5D), you could benefit from this gentle refractive procedure.
I Love LASIK is at the forefront of this minimally invasive and flap-less SMILE technology. As our patient, you will receive the very best treatment tailored to your individual needs.

ReLEx SMILE is painless thanks to the use of numbing drops.
The eye is also more comfortable post-operatively than other laser eye surgery techniques because only a tiny incision is made which heals faster.
A femtosecond laser sculpts your cornea into the correct shape that is required to focus light on the surface of your retina. It does this by placing a series of pulses that outline the tissue that needs removing.
The laser then makes a tiny 3 mm incision in the edge of the cornea so that we can gently remove this excess tissue with a tiny pair of forceps.
The procedure takes a matter of minutes.
You can expect a quick recovery with ReLEx SMILE laser eye surgery.
Because there is no risk of flap related issues, you can resume activities like swimming and outdoor sports within the first week of your surgery.
Your vision will be significantly better in just a few hours after surgery.
Within the first 24 hours, you may experience some haziness but this will soon clear.
After a few weeks, you will be experiencing optimum vision.
The results of your ReLEx SMILE procedure are permanent.
However, as your eyes age, you may require reading glasses in the future.
Fortunately, ReLEx SMILE does not preclude you from having any future procedures.
Like any surgery, ReLEx smile carries some risk. These include:
