EVO ICL Surgery

The EVO ICL is an Implantable Collamer Lens, which functions as a "permanent contact lens." This procedure does not change the shape of the cornea as LASIK does, nor does it remove the natural crystalline lens of the eye. It is considered an additive surgery and makes no other structural changes to your eye. This may be a good alternative for patients who aren't ideal candidates for LASIK or Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE). Although the procedure can be permanent, the implanted lens is removable, unlike a traditional Intraocular Lens (IOL) used in RLE

  • What to expect during ReLEx SMILE laser eye surgery?

    A femtosecond laser sculpts your cornea into the correct shape that is required to focus light on the surface of your retina. It does this by placing a series of pulses that outline the tissue that needs removing.

    The laser then makes a tiny 3 mm incision in the edge of the cornea so that we can gently remove this excess tissue with a tiny pair of forceps.

    The procedure takes a matter of minutes.

  • What to expect after ReLEx SMILE laser eye surgery?

    You can expect a quick recovery with ReLEx SMILE laser eye surgery.

    Because there is no risk of flap related issues, you can resume activities like swimming and outdoor sports within the first week of your surgery.

  • When will you see ReLEx SMILE laser eye surgery results?

    Your vision will be significantly better in just a few hours after surgery.

    Within the first 24 hours, you may experience some haziness but this will soon clear.

    After a few weeks, you will be experiencing optimum vision.

  • How long will ReLEx SMILE laser eye surgery results last?

    The results of your ReLEx SMILE procedure are permanent.

    However, as your eyes age, you may require reading glasses in the future.

    Fortunately, ReLEx SMILE does not preclude you from having any future procedures.

  • What are the risks of ReLEx SMILE laser eye surgery?

    Like any surgery, ReLEx smile carries some risk. These include:

    • Glare and halos around lights, particularly at night
    • Infection
